Durham Recruiting is currently working on another Working Millwright Team Lead position on the Day Shift available with our partner in Ajax. The Opportunity:

 

In a nutshell, you will be joining a maintenance team (not currently understaffed) to work on their machines (including robotics) / facility in a successful and growing manufacturing facility. This is a plant that does not put band-aids on its problems, they fix it correctly as soon as possible as to shut a machine down costs too much money. Forward-thinking and encourages ideas on how to make their plant more efficient.

 

** The ideal person for this role will start off as a part of the team to get to know the facility and will slowly transition into the Team Lead position. Training will be offered to those that have the ambition but not the experience. This is not a position that will ever be a full-time maintenance manager, it will always be a working millwright that will help in strategic planning, scheduling of work and training of staff.

  • Permanent Day Shift (if you are looking for an afternoon or night shift this can be accommodated as well – very flexible with their maintenance team

  • Hours – 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday (50 Hour Work Week)
  • OT paid out after 44 hours – 50 hour work week with OT available every Saturday and evenings (not mandatory)
  • Mandatory on-call evenings once every 5 weeks – very rare to get a call as they don’t put ‘band-aids on machines’, the fix the actual problems. Minimum 3 hours paid out for each call where you have to come in
  • Clean (not even a scuff on the walls), bright, spacious plant, LED lights
  • Extremely safe, organized and forward-thinking facility – the company has reduced the sound levels so that in only 20% of the plant are earplugs needed which they hope to eradicate in the coming year
  • Collaborative company – if you make a difference and save time/money the company pays out on Christmas bonus’s dependant on your contribution to the overall health of the company  
  • Very involved management, owners are on the plant floor with the team – they are there to support everyone, they don’t believe in hiding in their office, they love what they do and appreciate their staff

What We Need From You:

  • We are looking for the type of Millwright that is forward-thinking, is never sitting around waiting for a problem. This is a working role where there are no band-aids put on machines – you get to fix them!
  • Computer skills to be considered for the team lead role is a must (basic to intermediate is fine)  
  • Collaborative and someone that wants to make improvements to the facility/machines
  • Working in an ISO plant is considered an asset
  • Red Seal Millwright with at least 5 years experience working in a manufacturing plant
  • Experience with robotics is considered an asset
