Durham Recruiting has a very exciting Health & Safety Coordinator / HR Generalist position available with a new client coming to Durham at the end of next month from the West end of Toronto. The Opportunity:

 

In a nutshell, you will be the primary point of contact regarding all health, safety and WSIB matters. Working closely with all departments to make improvements, onboard new hires, hold regular training and ensuring the facilities are compliant to legislative requirements.

 

Your day to day will see you leading all Joint H & S Committees in each depot, site inspections, developing/updating H & S Manuals, risk management, safe work procedures and practices. You will also have the chance to work with the Human Resource Director and assist in multiple areas within human resources. Incredible opportunity to learn and grow your career.

What We Need From You:

  • A sincere passion for Health & Safety – this can’t be a job to you, it must be a proven lifestyle
  • Outgoing, full of life and the ability to bring people together
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven success leading a team of Health & Safety Members
  • Proven success improving procedures regarding all H & S methods, training and SOP’s
  • Education in a relevant course of study majoring in Health & Safety / Human Resources
  • At least 5 years experience in H & S, human resource experience is considered an asset
  • ** Must be okay to travel to Etobicoke for training, and throughout the year travelling to the H/O in Etobicoke as well as the other facilities across Canada for short trips
